Troop 1870, of Fairbury, was first established in the 50’s and was chartered by our current sponsor, the Fairbury Lion’s Club.  Our Troop is lead by Mr. Lassiter, our current Scoutmaster and two assistant Scoutmasters, Mr. Trembley and Mrs. Bounds.  The leaders also form the Terrapin patrol.  Not counting the Terrapin patrol, our troop is divided into two patrols, the Blue Fox patrol and the Blue Phoenix patrol.  The Blue Fox patrol, the older of the two, is led by Carson Bounds.  This patrol consists of the scribe, Trevor Plenert; the Webmaster, Ben Maier; the Quartermaster, Jared Trembley; and the Patrol leader, Carson Bounds.  The Blue Phoenix patrol is led by Jacob May.  This partol is made of the patrol leader, Jacob May; the librarian, Cooper Shevokas; the Chaplin’s Aide, Nathan Plenert, the historian Connor Bounds, and myself, the Senior Patrol Leader.

Our troop goes on many fun camping trips like Ingersoll, a week-long camping experience where you earn merit badges.  Another camping trip we went on last year was Cache Lake.  At Cache Lake, it is more relaxed and calm.  While Ingersoll is only two hours away, Cache Lake is in Canada.  In the winter each year, we spend a weekend in Wokanda, where we stay in a wooden cabin.  To learn more about our troop, go to our troop website  http://www.troop1870.org/
